“I must not write all over the walls” (“Non devo scrivere sui muri”). Banksy, l’artista di strada britannico noto in tutto il mondo per i suoi graffiti, veste i panni di Bart Simpson. E firma la sigla che da 22 stagioni introduce alla vita quotidiana della famiglia di Springfield milioni di telespettatori. Ma rispetta fino a un certo punto il copione che si ripete da anni sempre uguale (cambiano i dettagli, ma non la sequenza). E dopo aver fatto accomodare Homer, Marge e figli sul divano di casa, davanti alla tv, trascina tutti in un mondo grigio e sotterraneo.

Un bimbo intinge in un acido verdognolo immagini della famiglia Simpson, prodotte in serie da decine di disegnatrici. Bambole di Bart vengono imbottite con pellicce di gatti tritati. Un unicorno stremato viene sfruttato per bucare al centro, con il suo corno, i dvd della serie. Banksy, insomma, non risparmia a chi gli ha chiesto di firmare la sigla del cartoon più famoso al mondo, la sua arte provocatoria. E dirige una esplicita critica contro la scelta della società di produzione, la Fox, di esternalizzare una parte delle sue animazioni in Sud Corea. Una “stilettata auto-inflitta”, scrive l’Associated Press, dal momento che i produttori hanno scelto di mandare in onda negli Stati Uniti la sigla così come l’artista di strada l’aveva disegnata, nonostante l’evidente messaggio contro le multinazionali.

Dexter: una sigla alternativa animata in stile anni ’60

Il designer Ty Mattson ha creato una splendida sigla alternativa per Dexter: la sigla, che è un’animazione basata su alcuni poster precedentemente realizzati dallo stesso Mattson, riprende lo stile televisivo anni ’60, per capire come sarebbe stata la serie se fosse andata in onda all’epoca.
